Earlier this week, sites that were present at SDCC '10, said the premiered footage resembled the style of Peter Jackson's Dead Alive (Brain Dead here). I've gotta say, they were right. This looks sick, twisted and one hell of a fucking ride!
Leaked 9 Minutes from Piranha 3D!

Topless Piranhas Ahoy!!!
Check out the new UK Quad for Piranha 3D (out in Ireland & the UK in late August). The remake is directed by Alexander Aja (Switchblade Romance, The Hills Have Eyes) and starring Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames and Christopher Lloyd. Pretty fucking cool poster if I might add.

The A-Team skinny!
With Joe Carnahan's The A-Team launching this weekend here in Ireland & the UK, here's a quicky review to help you make up your mind on whether to check it out!
I'm sure everyone is aware of at least what The A-Team is all about, so I won't get into that, but I will say this is an origin story. This particular adventure tells the story of how Face, B.A., Hannibal & Murdock all met for the first time and became The A-Team. Fast forward a few years and the team are tasked with retrieving stolen US Dollar-making plates. So off they go on their globe trotting venture between the US, Iraq & Mexico.
In terms of performances and chemistry within the team, Neeson and the gang turn in fantastic performances. And you will really believe that these guys have been friends for years. When the A-Team are together (on a mission or not) hilarity ensues. And action. A shit ton of action.
The stunts, effects and set-pieces are terrifically OTT and ridiculous. You just have to see them to believe them. Altogether, with all these pro's in the mix, The A-Team is a total blast. Not without it's flaws, but a fun, highly entertaining romp regardless.

Total Recall(s)?
Underworld & Die Hard 4's director Len Wiseman is going to direct a reboot of Total Recall. I'm not too pushed with this news, as I've never hated remakes. In fact, I really dug The Wolfman with Hopkins and Del Toro, and more recently, The Crazies. What I don't like about the news is the direct attached. Wiseman, as it stands, has made 3 very mediocre movies. Die Hard 4 was lacking in the Hard, Underworld and it's sequel just plain sucked.
This could be entertaining I guess...a passable stylish sci-fi flick...but the original was just so fucking good that I can't help but ask WHY?!
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!

Zack Snyder just Sucker Punched you.
Fucking insane, right? But visually incredible? I agree. I was never too much of a fan of Snyder's 300 (don't get me wrong, it's a decent flick, it's just...well, I'm not exactly sure why I don't love it, but that's for another day) and I loved Watchmen, so I'm pretty excited for this one.
Snyder has previously tooted the flick as 'Alice In Wonderland' with Machine Guns. Too right. It even looks like he's shared the directing chair with the Mad Hatter...

A little news on the Alien Prequel...
Lost's Damon Lindelof has signed on the dotted line to rewrite the script, aye? Interesting. Alot of sites have posted there joy at the Lost co-creator signing on, and while I think it's relatively good news (I really fucking dug Lost) there's one site in particular that's tooting this as the worst news in years. I won't name names, but here's a quote: "Lindelof is the f**king Devil". Really? I mean, REALLY? The man did a damn fine job creating one of the 21st Centuries crowning achievements of Television, so I think this could be great for the Alien Script. Now that Sir Scott has been locked down as Director, the meeting of these two minds should be frickin' spectacular. Well, hopefully anyway.
On a side note, all you geeks & freaks should be interested to note the arrival of Alien on Blu-Ray, arriving in October 2010. Will you be picking it up?

Review(s)
Just posted some old reviews for you guys to get a taste of the kind of flicks I'll be reviewing here. Now, that's not to say it'll all be Horror, Sex, Gore & Good times...sometimes there'll be reviews for sad movies...movies that make you want to cry, laugh, gleefully skip through the enchanting forest. If the forest was a set piece for a David Lynch movie.

Also, look out for a review of the vicious and hilarious The Machine Girl soon!
